Safari surfin is slow

Hi, im new to macs and recently purchase an iBook G4 1.33

im using wireless at home and have desktop PCs connected as well

one hte WinXP machines, IE6 surfs fairly well, fast and everything loads quickly

on the iBook, safari takes a while to load the exact same pages

sometimes just not loading the pages for a while, sitting on x out of x items left to go

are there any tweaks to OSX/Safari to improve this?

try an app like onyx or cocktail that can disable the page loading delay. also maybe
safari speed

Check your....

Check your activity monitor. I had a .mac account and had virex installed. On my activity monitor virex was using 80% on my cpu resources. This slowed down everything on my machine especially safari. After I removed all the virex files my safari has sped up considerably. It also made my iBook run cooler by 40 degrees F. Just a thought.

you might want to try out camino. on my g4 ibook it is much faster than safari.
