I have a problem, my mac partition is corrupted and it will not boot. I have tried repairing, booting in safe mode, etc and nothing is working.

I have a windows bootcamp partition that is working fine. The only thing I want to save on the mac partition is my iphoto library. I have installed a program called macdrive however when I go to the folder users/myname/Pictures/iPhoto Library there is nothing in there other than a file called ThumbJPGSegment.data and nothing else. Im thinking that special file that mac puts in there makes it unreadable.

Is there any other programs that could be used to read this folder?

In reference to /Users/your user name/Pictures/iPhoto Library/, that file is read and write. I don't believe, however, that you can view it unless you're in OS X. By double clicking on it, it opens Preview so that the photos can be viewed.

Just copy the entire folder to a flash drive for safe keeping. Were you making Time Machine backups before the system crashed?
