Hello all,

I have been taking action to aquire a job with apple (for 1-1/2 years).

I have 4 years experience with working with computers as a computer sales men, I was the apple specialist at Fry's Electronics. (They even gave me a badge)

I no longer work there I want to get into apple retail but it seems that it is almost impossible! I tried calling but they block there recruiter like a game of chess. I have tried walking in but they don't like that either. I have met one employee that I need to talk to again..to see if he can help me get in.

Anyways what can I do, to at least get a interview??? (I know I can get the job, if I do)

I would appreciate help from current or former employes...

Yes

Yes I have applied online for every position they have available.

I wanted to work as a Apple Expert or Genius, but I am willing to work as a Greeter or Specialist as well.

I have modified my resume and cover letter to there requirements listed....

And I have been going back to re-apply every week to 2 weeks....

And I have been going back to re-apply every week to 2 weeks....

If there are openings in your area...and you've been re-applying every 1-2 weeks...and you haven't heard anything positive back...read between the lines!;)

I would also suggest that bombarding Apple with your resume every 1-2 weeks is NOT a great idea. The computer program that's scanning the resumes for "key words", or the human that's reviewing the resumes are rejecting it for a reason. And if it's a human doing the reviewing...they're probably recognizing your resume by now...and not even reviewing it any longer.

Getting a job at an Apple Store is not as easy as you think...and although you're confident in your abilities...there may be something Apple is looking for in a prospective employee...that's not being communicated on your resume.

Just some thoughts to consider,:)

Yes I know...

and I have read between the lines on what type of employee they are looking for.
I have even talked to a couple of the Apple Specialist and they say I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. Maybe saying I been posting my resume every week is over kill but I have been trying to get noticed by a Apple Recruiter.
They hire students right out of high school first job.
There must be some keywords or I need to have someone to refer me to Apple recruiter.

Remember the shape the economy is now and was when you started applying a year and a half ago. A job at the apple store has always been a decent job but with the way things are now its a great job. You are most likely competing with people who are over qualified for the job now. Keep your head up and stay focused on your goal if this a job you really want.

Let me add my 2 cents on this, being somewhat familiar with Apple's Retail hiring process. Technical skills are a dime a dozen, and they really don't care about that. What you want to emphasize to them are 2 things:

1) You are the kind of person that is genuinely interested in technology and can spread that excitement to people you interact with; you're the sort of person that has all these crazy gadgets coming out and love hearing about them. You own a computer, MP3 player, smartphone and tablet, and they're great items in your life. This is something you have to exude when you meet in person.

2) You are good at customer service. Yes, even for Geniuses, this is far more important to them than even an ACMT certification would be - they retrain you in that stuff anyway.

3) Okay, I lied, there is a sort-of third one, which could be lumped in with the first one. Show them you are really into Apple. Hopefully that computer is a Mac, that MP3 player is an iPod, that smartphone is an iPhone, and that tablet is an iPad. That said, being someone that has a lot of Windows experience certainly won't hurt, especially if you can help switchers with what you've gone through. They want to know to some degree that you want to work at Apple, not just to work somewhere. That goes for most places to some degree, though.
