IRC with Adium

Download Adium here.

To join the Mac-forums IRC chatroom for the first time:

1. Go to the menu bar: Adium -> Preferences.

2. Click on the plus sign (+) for a drop down menu for a list of options.

3. Select "IRC (Internet Relay Chat)".

4. Under the "Account" tab, enter in the follow fields:

Nickname: yourmacforumsusernamehere
Hostname: irc.freenode.net
Password: (optional)

Click "OK", once you have completed the appropriate fields.

5. Go the menu bar: File -> Join Group Chat.

6. Under the drop down menu "Account", select the "irc.freenode.net (yourmacforumusernamehere)".

In the "Channel:" field, enter in #Mac-forums

Leave the "Password:" field blank.

Click "Join".


To rejoin the IRC channel:

1. Go the menu bar: File -> Join Group Chat.

2. Under the drop down menu "Account", select the "irc.freenode.net (yourmacforumusernamehere)".

In the "Channel:" field, enter in #Mac-forums

Leave the "Password:" field blank.

Click "Join".
