This is a tutorial on how to install Win 7(or any other win os) on mac with a broken DVD drive
First off you will need an extra mac to do this. If you dont have one stop reading now.
If rEFit didn't work for you this will.
1. Download & Install Winclone
2. Install Windows 7 through BOOT CAMP on the extra Mac.
3. Use win clone to image the BOOT CAMP partition(go HERE to see how)
4. Create a BOOT CAMP partition on the Mac that has the broken DVD drive.
5. Install Winclone on the Mac that has the broken DVD drive.
6. Use Winclone to restore the imaged winclone file on the mac.
7.Boot up in the BOOT CAMP partition
8. Reinstall Win 7 over windows 7( This is what i did, im not sure what will happen if you dont.
9. Everything else is self explainitory.
If yo uhave any other questions ask me in this thread. Thanks hope this works for you.
