Just wondering what the average battery life out of the Magic Mouse is? I got my iMac a little about two months ago and my batteries just died.

With Eveready Energizers I get maybe 3 months. Get 6-8 on the Keyboard.

Purchased Magic Mouse 23 March and installed Energizer Lithium batteries, and still showing 100%! Do not use re-chargeables as they fail miserably.

Aluminium Keyboard using 2xAA batteries about 9 months.

I had to have the numeric keyboard, so its USB. Mouse seemed to die quicker than I expected, but thats not a deal breaker.

Lucky you. Same batteries here and I get 4 weeks or 5 at most. Do you switch it off at all when not in use (I don't)?

I carry my magic mouse with me - and get about 3 months with regular use. Since I carry the mouse in my backpack I tend to turn it off. Lasts forever now that I stopped using it as much. I've gotten used to using the trackpad, and I picked up a Magic Trackpad. The Magic Trackpad stayed on and it seemed to last only a month with regular batteries. I am trying out the Energizer Lithium as well. Still at 100% after a week - hopefully that is a good sign. These batteries are much more expensive but I got a big pack at Costco for $30/24 so it is steeper than most batteries - but if they last significantly longer then it may be worth it.

I'll try that. Had problems in the past waiting for it to connect after being turned off, but perhaps that problem has been fixed/gone away.

To get it to connect, I just hit the button a few times and it connects right up.

Ah Ah! The old 'press the button' routine. Tried it and yes it works. I was just moving it about. What's that about the simplest solution being the best. Thanks.

Glad I could help. Figured that out one day when it was taking a long time to connect. Both of my Magic Mice did the same thing and that worked.

I use rechargeables and they work fine. I use my computer for my work so my MM is actually turned on and working for about 12 hours or more per day. At that rate, of course, my batteries only last six weeks or so (I do switch it off when not in use).

My mouse is a battery drainer! They last about 3 weeks. But then again, I use regular crappy batteries. Any good brand you guys may suggest?

Since I use my Mac a lot, I never considered turning it off. Thanks guys! Totally appreciate it.
