Has anyone here had any experience with online auctions?. Good or bad? I am pondering the idea of bidding on an Ipad, but have no experience with online auctions. Is there some that are more reputable than others? I would like your feed back. Thanks.

I've used eBay on and off through the years. The key is making sure you only pay with credit card (for the chargeback protection) and only buy from sellers who have good reputations.

+650 100% on eBay Australia and if you stick to sellers with substantial positive feedback, +99%, you cannot go wrong. One and only one let down was to a graphics card seller in US who is no longer in business and PayPal made a full refund.

There's risk with everything. But as has been mentioned already:

- Pay with a credit card (usually via a Paypal account)
- check that the seller has lots of positive feedback
- ask lots of questions. If something is not clear or if something you know should be mentioned & it isn't...ask!
- be clear regarding shipping costs
- ask for additional photos if there isn't enough, or something isn't clear
- don't get over-excited by the process...and then over-pay

Good luck,

- Nick
