Hello,
I have been using my imac for nearly 5 years and i still don't know how to do a few thing on my mac (or even if you can) that i used to find very useful!

So to start. . . . .
On pc i can label all the pictures in one folder with same name. E.g Christmas1, Christmas2 by highlighting them all and typing in Christmas. Can i do this on a mac?

No, but you can probably do it by using Automator

It is a built-in tool for OSX that will allow you to, well, Automate routine tasks and such. Check Help on your OSX box for a lot more information.

You could do it with Automator, slightly more complicated than NameChanger though.

#1 Open Automator.
#2 Choose "Service".
#3 Change the top box with the downward pointing arrow to "Service receives selected "Files and folders" in "Finder".
#4 Find "Get Selected Finder Items" in the list on the left and drag to the right area.
#5 In the left list again find "Make Finder Item Names Sequential", drag it to the right area.
#6 In the "Make Finder Item Names Sequential" click on options and check "show this action when the workflow runs"
#7 Save it

#8 Select the Finder items you want to rename and right click on one of them, you should see your newly created "Service" listed, click on it.

When it runs you will see this, you can then pick from the drop-down several different renaming schemes.
