Hi,

I have made a couple of hundred Powerpoint (.ppt) presentations over the last few years that I now need to be able to save in a format that they can be viewed and altered with a range of other Operating systems (PCs etc.). My problem is that when I save my Powerpoints and open them on a PC all the images do not appear and instead "QuickTime and a TIFF (uncompressed) decompressor are needed to see this picture" appear.

I have done a little research and I think the reason for my problem is that I dragged and dropped all my images from safari browser. The problem is that the Mac PowerPoint programme does not actually save the image but a link to it (or something like this?) Hence when I open the image on a PC it does not work.

Does anyone know anyway I can save a PowerPoint from mac to PC without losing images? A PDF version is no good because I need my .ppt s to be changed and used by others

Thanks in advance

I routinely go both ways (PC to Mac and vice versa) with my Powerpoint files. Graphics, whether they be images or photos have to be embedded or as you found out, a link is created.

A graphic taken from Safari and saved to your machine first rather than drag and drop directly into Powerpoint should work.
