iTunes Won't Open, Has Different Icon

I was on my iTunes a couple of days ago, haven't changed anything, and all of a sudden I come home to a different icon and it won't open. Did something happen in the last critical updates? Can't think what would cause this.

iTunes 10 introduced a new icon (see it here). Is this the icon you see now?

No. Looks like a note pad with a pencil, paint brush and ruler.

I'm going to guess that you're referring to the "default" application icon (see the icon in this picture). I can't explain why that has become the iTunes icon but if it doesn't install, it sounds like your installation has broken. Try reinstalling it - you can get it here.

That's the icon. And, I downloaded iTunes again and it worked. Everything's where it should be, thank you! Why would it do that? I appreciate your help!

probably corrupted when you downloaded it.
