I am installing the driver for my Epson Perfection 1670 on my new MacBook Pro with 10.6.7.
I installed the driver from the Epson site epson13969.dmg and tried the example with Preview.
The scanner is listed, but if I try to Import from scanner the calibration takes a long time and after that I get the message "scanner reported an error".
And that's it. It does not scan.

The scanner works ok on my old MacBook with 10.5.

Anyone any idea?

Read the Epson FAQs for your Printer - Scanner. See this LINK.

Take note of the FAQ that talks about upgrading OS X to Snow Leopard and the installation of Rosetta in order to get the scanner working. Don't know if that's your problem or not, but may be worth while looking into.
