I have a 1 TB Mercury Rack Pro with 2 drives installed. Every few days, it "loses" the drives, meaning the computer can't find them until the Mercury Rack Pro is rebooted. Connections are solid, and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the hard drives. Any ideas on why this might be happening? Thanks!

If I were a betting man. I would say it could be 1 of couple things.

1. The drives are putting them selves to sleep I think WD does this and some devices do not like that.(there is usualy a program you can download from the manufacturer to stop it from happening.)

2. The cable is faulty, inside or out.

3. the controller in the drive chassis is faulty.

My bet is on 1
