format HDD?????

i just purchased a new 1tb western digital harddisk....
now the problem is it is in NTFS...and i want it to convert to FAT...

from where can i format the hard disk.....when i right click the external drive there is no function as (format which is found in windows )

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility is your friend. Select the drive > Erase > choose the format and set a name > Erase...

ok cool i didnt knw Mac had a dedicated software kind of this....thanks worked out as planned

Make sure you select "Master Boot Record" when you reformat that 1 TB drive to FAT-32. Otherwise it will format to GUID and that will leave it with an EFI partition in addition to the FAT-32 partition.
