I am thinking about getting my wife a Macbook Air and switch her over from PC.

Refurbished 13 inch Airs are available but there are two different specs with same price.

I would assume an October 2010 would be more desirable but the older model has a faster processor.

Oh yeah...they both have iSight naturally, I just omitted it from the lists.

Which one would be a better purchase? Normal computer use, Word documents, browsing, etc.

Given your computing activity, I'd go for the newer machine - the difference in processor speed is hardly likely to be noticeable with the kind of use your wife is likely to make of it.

+1 on going with the 2010 model.

That's what I would think too.

Wonder why Apple doesn't offer the older model for a greater discount.
