I get stuff wrong here often enough, I figured with the right avatar, I could more easily blame them on senility instead of... uhm, ahh, uhm... from doing my growing up in the 60s and early 70s. ;D

I started out with Clippy (the MS Paperclip) more as a joke than anything. After someone else joined and started using the avatar I decided to switch to a photo. Had one handy with my daughter and a trebuchet we built for her science project.
Have been thinking about changing again if I can come up with something:
1) I like better
2) Unique
3) Cool
4) Relatively easy to do

Or, alternatively I might just think about changing and stick with this one for who knows how long. ;)

I tend to switch my avatar up periodically. I may even bring back the square chicken on occasion. :)

I'm a big Albert Camus fan (The Stranger is a great novel) and thought it was a cool looking picture. I've also had Bender from Futurama and characters from the Cyanide and Happiness comic.

Hold on a second here .... there is nothing wrong with growing up in the 60's ...
I am living proof... ( don't know if that's good or bad ) ;P

When I joined, I selected an avatar that was available in the default list, and never looked back.

But I guess this thread makes me consider and extreme makeover.

Cheers ... McBie

I love it, when people are rocking the default avatars! But I understand, if you must have another. :(

I just love Beetles and vans :)

On another note, I kinda like Stewie from Family Guy, I know his accent is New England but he kinda sounds more British, so in an odd trans Atlantic way, I chose Stewie

I used to use the same avatar on most sites until I got here. When Snow Leopard was released I really liked the image and used it right away, and haven't thought about changing it once. My username can be found in various sites, mostly car related and part of my username is derived from my car model.

While living in Hungary, I happened upon a music store and decided to check out the cool European Amps and rare old instruments. In their window sat this sign, and thought it was cool. Almost asked if I could purchase it from them, but felt that it would be better to have it stay there for the sake of advertisement. I should have moved the plant though...

I thought it was purty...and seemed to marginally fit in with the theme of the forum :)
