What is better the airport express or the base station. I'm in a college dorm and I really don't know which one is the better deal for what I need?

The Airport Extreme Base stations is better because it has more options, has a better range, and allows more connections.

However, if you just need a simple access point the Airport Express would work just fine, especially if you want to stream music to a stereo.

Generally however, the Airport Base is better if you're creating a real wireless hub for your network. In a dorm room though, the express should be just fine.
