• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

i have a problem with imovie, i am new to using it.

i have some movie files in imovie that i wish to delete but am unable to delete.

the FILE drop down that says "Move rejected clips to trash" and "Move to trash" are lightened , not darkened, and I am unable to click on them to use.

How can i change this status so i can delete some videos.

thank you in advance for any help and direction.

Have you selected the clips that you want to trash before opening the Menu?

Earlier I transferred some Windows Media Player files(MPEG) to my Mac. They showed up as QuickTime Folders but when I clicked on them they would not play. Then I went to Open the files With VLC they worked. I need the files to work with QuickTime Player so I can edit them in iMovie HD!

Just becasue they play in Quicktime doesn't necessarily mean that they will import into iMovie.

Use MPEGStreamclip and export them to Quicktime using the Apple Intermediate Codec option, then they'll be fine for iMovie.
