Hello everyone,

I have a Windows 2003 server running on a network with one Windows XP workstation and one Windows XP laptop. I will be adding one Apple Power Mac (Dual 2.0Ghz) and two Apple iBooks to this network.

With Windows i'm able to distributes updates from the server to clients (XP) very easily. Is there any software i can use to update the Apple machines via Windows 2003.

Example:

Internet <------> Windows 2003 (My Server)
|<------> Windows XP (Workstation)
|<------> Windows XP (Laptop)
|<------> Apple Power Mac
|<------> Apple iBook (#1)
|<------> Apple iBook (#2)

Basically the server acts as a cache.

Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about OS updates? The automatic update will always download a fresh copy from Apple.

If you're short on bandwidth, you can decline the automatic update and download manually. Apple posts Mac OS updaters on its support site, and you could then burn them to CD or copy them across the network from machine to machine.

For other updates, it depends on the vendor's policies.
