• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I'm so frustrated.

I have just started using FCP 6 from FCS 2 on my G5 tower to edit HDV footage. I have captured it fine, but if I zoom into the timeline or try to cut any clips placed there, FCP crashes. I have tried trashing preferences and re-installed FCP, but to no avail.

I am working on
Dual 2 GHz Power PC G5
2.5 GB DDR SDRAM

Running Mac OSX 10.4.11

FCP 6.0.5

QT 7.6.4

I have also ran hardware test and found no problems and repaired permissions.

Below is the crash report. I have just started to try to decipher this, but don't really know what I'm looking for. I know that it says Quicktime components crash, but which component and how do I fix it?

Hopefully there's some help out there!

Thanks

Clyde
