I downloaded this avi file of the web and in its filename it says xvid, which I am assuming is the codec its encoded in, but I dont know how to tell for sure. And when I open it in quick time the video plays but no audio, and a quictime box comes up that says it needs addtional software to play the clip and it takes me to an apple website with a list of like 10 different downloads for quicktime that I could buy, but none of them seem like what I need. Is there a program or a way to tell what codec the audio and video are encoded in. On windows machines I know there is a program called Gspot, but is there something like that for a mac?
