I hope that also works for international users, in which case I will donate when I next purchase something on the iTunes store.

It is great that Japan and Germany, once our mortal foes are now our trusted friends and peaceful allies. Many nations bear a grudge going back centuries, and in a couple of generations we have put it all behind us.

For any Japanese visitors to the site, we are thinking of you.

I'm sure Apple and MS are only caring about Japan cause it affects their IT industry. New Zealand and Australia were devastated by mother nature too with Apple and MS not donating 1 cent to help them. Just a thought I had.

Relief Aid to Japan

The US Chamber of Commerce is tracking 140 corporations who have given aid to the relief effort in Japan. Apple is sadly absent.

Corporate Aid Tracker - Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami, March 2011 | BCLC

Microsoft has committed $2 Million. Apple $0. the latest estimate is it may cost 235 billions dollars to rebuild Japan. Imagine if Steve Jobs were to donate a portion of his iPad2 sales to helping Japan. He could make a big difference. Humanitarian issues aside Apple has a growing number of customers in Japan not to mention the parts they have made in Japan for the iPad2 alone. I am hoping they will change their tune and help out.
