Hi.

Even tough I'm near my AirPort Extreme base station my signal is at most 75%.

What going on here? Why can't I get 100%?

Try turning your Airport Card off and on through System Preferences > Network.

You could also try resetting your Airport Extreme.

Sorry for not mentioning that I tried the first option before.

Through the day I've read a lot of articles on signal loss. In the end I've decided to change my AirPort's channel but it didn't made any difference.

Right now I'm suspicious of connecting it with the 2.4 GHz option. But still that doesn't explain how this signal loss is possible. I mean I'm just near the Extreme with my MBP. That's nuts.

Anyway. Any other thoughts before I make the reset to my Extreme?

This is similar to the other thread you had a few weeks ago and my answer is the same, does it really matter? :)

If you're getting the performance you expect, then the signal level really is not relevant. You won't notice any difference in performance between 75% and 100%.

First of all, I made I reply to that other post as well.

But for this post: Isn't it weird that I can't get 100% signal strength when I'm literally near the Extreme.

This time I'm not talking about connection speed. It seems like there is something wrong with my Extreme. When I'm near it there nothing between to interfere. That's nonsense.

There's not. It's almost impossible to get 100% strength given environmental variables and natural wireless interference.

Why? What's the interference when I'm near the Extreme.

Even tough what you are saying is right, which it is, shouldn't it be a higher signal? I had better signal strength with my older non-Apple wireless modem.

I'm not so sure I can help you. If there was such a thing as a hypochondriac for WiFi, you might be it. :)

If you AirPort Extreme is near your microwave, you will get bad connection speed. I am just guessing that you are on 2.4GHZ. This band is sometimes called the "junk band" because so many products use this band. For example, if you Extreme is near you microwave, they will interfere with each other because there are on the same band. Maybe you should look into re-locating your Extreme. This might increase your speeds. It all just depends on where you have your Extreme located.
I hoped this helped!
