MACBOOK - Keyboard Problem?

Well I restarted my macbook pro (mid 2009), after reboot I was able to get to the log in screen... my trackpad works but when I try to type in my password it doesn't work. The keyboard doesn't seem to work.

When I hit "caps lock" the keyboard seems to resporn properly. I just can't type anything.

Any remedy?
