Good. They could use some decent apps. Most are junk and those that exist on both platforms rarely have the same polish as the iOS version.

Absolutely right, it's about time they sorted out the market place. IMO they should also make a few rules and some sort of a screening process for apps that go there too, perhaps not AS stringent as Apple, but some sort of screening process would be good.

Good to see Google is taking less of a laissez faire approach to its Android platform. Maybe they didn't really expect it to blow up as much as it did and are now scrambling to catch up.

I think they expected to be like MS and just take market share. I don't think they expected so many folks to still choose Apple even with an open Google platform. Their biggest challenge is still the hardware. Some of it's great, most of it is junk and nearly all of it confuses the bejesus out of the average consumer. Choice is good, too much choice is very bad.
