I don't think that will ever happen. Ballmer (other than Gates) owns more MS stock than any other shareholder. IMO, he would have to voluntarily retire.

Mind you the funny thing is if Ballmer kicked out the MS stock would rise a lot. So Ballmer would be richer is he was fired.

Do you think he is smart enough to figure that out, or is he just stubborn and actually wants to drive MS into the ground?

I don't think so. I think he actually thinks he is the best person to be CEO at MS.
