Apple Tv transfer data to the HD

ok this seems like a no brainer but i bought and 1st gen 160gig apple tv from a friend and i want to dump and bunch of my movies and tvs shows on the hard drive so it doesnt fill the HD of my computer, so how do i do this???

You upload them via iTunes just like you would an iPod. It takes forever though.
