Ok, first off I'm switching from pc to mac everything. So here is the deal, I was wondering if this is a good deal I'm selling this pc Here are the specs

[email protected]?subject=WTT%2FWTS%20my%20PC%20for%20any%20IMAC%20or%20MB%20Pro%20-%20%24900%20(%20Virginia%20Beach)&body=%0A%0Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fnorfolk.craigslist.org%2Fsys%2F2067710027.html%0A

And buying the lowest macbook pro for $1199 and that's just to get the pc out of my house, but in a month or two I'm buying the highest imac 27 inch. So the whole question is would I loose a lot of speed from the pc to macbook pro? I know since I'm getting the imac it shouldn't matter just wondering?

Correct link is:

WTT/WTS my PC for any IMAC or MB Pro

You have about $420 in the Mobo, Processor, Memory and Video card. The rest are all relatively cheaper things. So If a person were trying to build a PC with those components, it'd cost no more than $650-$700 maximum.

You've owned the PC for 2 years now, so you're not going to anything remotely to $900 for that..I would think somewhere in the $300 is probably more reasonable..

Before buying my iMac, I sold my custom built PC that costed me close to $1400 to build, and another $300 in a monitor, I got rid of the whole thing for about $400 and that was the about the best I could do..

PC's just don't hold their value like Mac's do..

Regards

Ok, Raz0r thanks for the information. Now my question is from the specs of my pc, and going to the MBP 13-inch: 2.4GHz would I loose a great amount of speed?

I have the brand new 13" MacBook Pro, switched from a high end ASUS gaming notebook. The macbook so far seems to have better performance than my asus does. The video card in the asus is a 1gb, video card in the mac is 256mb. I dont know why this is but mac's seem to just perform better even though the asus has a much larger video card. But im new to the mac world myself, just giving my input.

Your PC has a faster processor..and technically should perform better. If you were using Windows (depending on the version and how long you've been running that version) might be the reason it might not be very fast.

Now OS X is based on the BSD Kernel which like all Unix variants tends to perform overall better than Windows.

So unless you have a particular issue with your PC or you need the Mac for some reason, you might want stick with your PC and give Linux a shot. That might give you a performance boost.

The one thing of Apple computers is the high cost of entry..this is usually defrayed if you have an existing Apple computer that you can sell to get the newer one..

You will notice a difference in doing CPU intensive tasks (burning CD's, playing RTS games, etc). Other than that, not a huge difference.

Is it worth it buying a 13.3 inch 2.4ghz macbook pro for 875?

If it is the latest model MBP it would be worth buying .... As a Refurbed ~ 13" MBP 2.4GHz from the  store is $1019 .... Make sure it has ALL the Install DVD's that came with the machine when it was 1st shipped .....

Cheers
