Hi,
I have Mac OS X, version 10.4.11

I would like to upgrade to version 10.5 or higher. Do I have to purchase this? Can it be downloaded? I've looked all through the updates and can't find this upgrade.

Thanks,

Going from 10.4 to 10.5 or 10.6 are all paid upgrades. However, upgrading from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2, 10.5.3, ... and so on are free upgrades.

What kind of Mac do you have? Provide the specifications. You need an Intel Mac to be able to upgrade to 10.6. You'll want to have about 2GB of RAM to avoid sluggish behavior..

Just a word of warning - finding 10.5 discs is quite difficult and can be quite expensive. Assuming you have a machine that meets the requirements, I would suggest upgrading to 10.6. As Raz0rEdge asked though, before we can give more specific advice, we will need to know the specs of your machine.

If you don't have an Intel Mac, you can get Leopard for $129 from Apple. You'll have to call it in at 1-800-MY-APPL
