do you let others use your 'Book?

personally i dont, usually. because its not their own they usually dont care what happens to it. but thats just me. what about you?

I dont have a Book but if I did ....**** no! I'd probably mess it up enough without others helping lol

other people do not touch my computers in any way shape or form.

My family uses the PC, nobody but me use MY PB.. hehe

I think it's fine, as it applies to both, and there is no forum for both. Personally, I think it would be good to combine the iBook and Powerbook forums. Most problems apply to "portables" in general.

On topic, I let people use my PB, but I am always right next to them.

Well, you are really asking two different things here:
1.) The title of the thread is "Do you let others USE your 'Book?"

2.) The poll on the other hand asks, "Do you let others BORROW your 'Book?"

To answer the first question, yes I have let other people use my iBook. I have been right there next to them, though.

To answer the second question asked by the poll, the answer is a resounding NO. I would never let anyone borrow an expensive item like a laptop computer.
I am very protective of my high ticket items (like my computers), and while I don't mind if someone wants to take a look at it, or use it for something quick while I am there with them, I would never let anyone borrow it for any extended period of time.

The only person who borrows my iBook is my girlfriend, and the only time she would do it is when her iBook is unavailable for some reason.

Other than that, it's all mine.

I'd probably be glad to let someone use it *supervised* for the sake of letting them see what a gorgeous platform they're missing out on

But unsupervised or let them -borrow- it? No way ** zay, nuh uh!

others dont really use my PB apart from the girlfriend

as for borrowing it.......no one wants to cause it scares them, with it being a mac

but i did let my mate borrow my x86 laptop a few times because i know he would take good care of it

My wife uses it occasionly but not often and I have let her borrow it once in like 6 months.

I don`t have my iBook yet. Should be ordering it in about 2-3 weeks, but when it does get here the only person that will be able to use it will be my best friend. NO way will my parents use it. He spends most of his time over at my house now in front of my beautiful iMac, so i know he knows what he is doing. I would never let anyone borrow it!! To risky.

I think my friend spends so much time at my house so he can get away from is windows computer. He really wants my mac. lol

I let my cousins listen to and download music on it, but that's basically it. Everyone in my family is Mac-illiterate, so they couldn't figure out the first thing about it, even if I let them use it.
