I have a Macbook that I have no issues with at all. I was given a laptop to have for auto work and to use as a media server by my brother.

The issue is his laptop is toasted. I can't get past the boot screens and it keeps going to the "do you want to proceed normally or in safe mode". I had a friend take a look and he said I need the start up disc to get it running again.

How do I do this using my mac? I dl'd the vista recovery disc.iso and tried to burn it to a disc but no go.

Sorry for the newb questions but I'm at a loss. I just want that laptop to work even if I have to wipe it clean.

The answer is you can't create a startup disk for a PC on your Mac. And, you can not legally download an XP, Vista, or Win 7 recovery disk ISO. If you need a startup disk for your PC, you need to buy one. Amazon, NewEgg, and many other on line suppliers sell a system builder's OEM version of the popular Windows operating systems.

Or, go the the MS Web site and purchase direct from their on line store.
