Minimize All Open Windows

In the Mac OS x Keyboard shortcuts it says this is:-

Cmmd + Option + M

But holding down

Cmmd + Alt + M

Doesnt seem to do anything. Cmmd + M and FN + F11 are both working fine so I am a little bit puzzled.

What Mac are you trying to do this on? With a MacBook or MBP running SL, you can use a 4 finger swipe up to show desktop.
Using keyboard, it is Option + Command + M.

IMac running SL. When I hold down all three keys it just beeps and doesnt do anything.

Am I right in thinking option is the same key as Alt or am I pressing the wtong keys?
