Cheaper textbooks from overseas** - 11:13 am
A New York Times article reports that college students can purchase
textbooks overseas at significant savings over the domestic price.
(You'll need to register at NYTimes.com to read the article.) The
article cites in particular the textbook "Lehninger Principles of
Biochemistry, Third Edition." If purchased at Amazon.com, it costs
$146.15 shipped. However, when purchased at Amazon.co.uk, the same
textbook, including shipping to the United States, costs just
$71.53. Also noted is a trend in collegiate bookstores purchasing
texts from abroad to be sold below the publisher's price in the
United States.

I wish I had of known that while my wife was in school. That would have save me a lot of money. I mean a lot of money. Students know that books are very, very expensive. She graduated this past May 2003, in Social Work. She is thinking about going after her masters. So this is something I may look into.
