I have MBP 15" I5 core. With snow leopard.

I would like a application that I can see information about my home network. Would like to be able to ping ip addresses run traceroute and so on. This may be one or more applications.

Anyone know of app or app's I can get for this ?

Thanks

Network Utility that comes with your Mac. It's in the Application/Utilities folder

You will also find that you can use these commands in Terminal (Applications => Utilities). Do note that they work slightly differently from their Windows counterparts... for example, ping continuously pings without the need to use the /t argument. Additionally, trace route is not tracert as it would be in Windows, it's actually traceroute. Also ifconfig will give you info about your network adapters similar to ipconfig in Windows.

I had not found the utilities folder. There is a bunch of stuff in there. Very cool.
