I am new to the Mac world, including iTunes really. My cousin used my digital copy of several movies I had, and want them on my computer. I understand one account, with 5 devices. But when I copied the file and tried to play them on my iMac, it pops up with his Apple ID, and asks to enter his password. I was wondering if I do enter the password what happens? Do I then have access to it? Does he lose access to it? Can I transfer it to my iPod and stream through Apple TV? Any time I want to access it, does it ask for his password again? I simply do not want to mess anything up, but still have access to it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You will have to use his password to access digital copies if they have been downloaded using another account, I believe (but not 100% sure) that they are tied to one account only. It won't mess anything up its like signing into msn on another computer in a way.

Would say, don't let your cousin steal any more movies.

I would think so. You only get to download them once and they stay associated with the iTunes account they're downloaded on.

Far as I'm concerned, one of my cousins comes over and proceeds to download my digital copies to their iTunes account without my permission, that's stealing.

If the op gave permission, and now wants it back, well, shouldn't have given it away to begin with.
