New member here. Apologies if starting a new thread for help with my problems is some unsaid taboo on the forum but it is one of the reasons I joined. I am in need of sage advice.

I just recently moved into a new apartment complex and have had a hiccup setting up my airport. I have always used airport as my wireless delivery device as I am a Mac user and believe in the brand. The issue here is that the strength of service is weak and drops out frequently. When I plug the ethernet directly into my macbook it runs extremely fast, so my initial though that it was cable related was debunked. The network is set up to be secure so there isn't any interference with other wireless networks, but I am stuck and the AppleCare on my airport has expired and Apple wants to charge me $50 to troubleshoot.

Any ideas? Appreciate the help.
