• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have been looking for a long time for a DVD to Mpeg converter so i can watch dvd's on my psp and i have found a free one. its called HandBreak (http://handbrake.m0k.org/). it takes about 2 hours to convert a DVD to Mpeg 4 on my mac MINI running at 1.42ghz with 512mb ram. i will try it on my powerbook g4 1.67ghz in a few days to see if its faster. I used a dvd i had riped with MacTheRipper but the program says it can copy right off a DVD(i have yet to test that).

If your looking a psp memory stick you can get a 1gig stick on amazon for $99.
