I still have a working Compaq portable. 5" floppy and 40MB hard drive!
I've never seen and ad for it, so it's great to see :) It was my first ever PC

I also have a ZX-81 (Timex Sinclair 1000)

Making me feel old!

I'm only 21 so my vintage ads include paying 400 dollars for a NVIDIA 9000 series video card...

I'm surprised this one wasn't in there --

And oh yes, the Monitor and Mouse aren’t included. Curiously, though, the keyboard is.

And if you could afford this computer, then the price of 10 3.5" HD diskettes was no big deal!

In 1989, the base price of a Ford LX 4-Door Escort was $7,755!

LOL!

This is great. I was just browsing around Google Books the other day looking at old Maximum PC ads. I remember one had an article about the "NEW G3 IMAC!" and "WILL IT SAVE APPLE!?" Alienware computer ads featuring Pentium 3s lol

There's about 14 pages full of old MPC issues here, I don't remember which one had the iMac article.
