Need to free up some memory

I am running OSX 10.3 on a G4 powerbook, and I am running out of memory. I have read other posts that say leaving the machine powered up overnight, should clear up deleted files etc. But I have done that, and I am down to 10GB of free space. I always delete old files etc to keep the disk clear but all to no avail.

Any ideas ?
