Well I finally bought a 13" Macbook Pro! This is an incredible machine and totally worth the $. I'm coming from a 5 year old Dell 600M (which I had to reinstall Windows XP about 6 times, replaced 2 batteries, and 3 chargers in those 5 years) so you can see why I'm so excited!!!

I inherited a Power Mac G4 with a 22" monitor awhile back which got me hooked.

The 22" monitor has the ADC connector - how outdated is this? Is there a way to hook this up to my new MBP to use when I'm home?

Thank you to everyone in advance for all the useful information I've read on Mac-Forums. I'm sure I will have plenty of questions down the road.

Congrats, the 13" MBP is a great little machine.

I tried looking for a ADC to Mini-Display port but couldn't find anything. I'm sure there is some type of solution out there, you will just have to keep looking.

#1 - that's the ONLY thing that will do what he's asking.
#2 - I didn't set the price.
#3 - probably could find a used one cheaper.

I bet you can get a Mini DisplayPort to DVI and then a DVI to ADC.

Good luck! :)

Not sure we have any fortune tellers or time travellers here.

But, mine is 4 years old now and still don't have any plans on replacing it.

I gave e-Bay a check...currently there are 3 "DVIator's" for sale...$99, $149, $249 (all are Buy It Now auctions...the $249 is also 'Best Offer").

It's always possible. There are plenty of folks out there using 5+ year-old laptops.

Of course you could spill a beverage on your laptop tomorrow...and all would be lost!:(...so NOOOO beverages near the laptop!!!;)

You're right, wrong direction...

So you have to have USB power to the old ADC monitors?
And I guess it's built into the ADC side of the adapter?

If you're not using an ADC card the adapter needs to do 3 different things: video, USB and good old fashioned power.
