i wasn't sure were to post....

but anywho i have whole bunch of quicktime .mpg files and i want to go full screen when i watch them, and i dont wanna upgrade to "pro" so is there any way i can maybe convert it into dvd format maybe?

or would it be to much of a hassle...

dose anyone actually have QT pro? my dad has it but im grounded from the g5 at the moment.... :mad:

There's a hack to get fullscreen mode enabled in qt without the pro version, but I would just use VLC or Mplayer to go fullscreen. Or ask my dad nicely for the serial number for QT Pro.

No, you can play avi's with Quicktime too, though some of them require the divx codec for sound. There are lots of posts littered around here regarding those.

Isn't .avi just a wrapper format?

Anyway, I can get most avi's to play in either VLC or Mplayer, but some encoded with Windows media player 10 won't play at all on macs.

I think I've lost myself as well..

AVI, an acronym for Audio Video Interleave, is a video file format introduced by Microsoft in November 1992, as part of the Video for Windows technology. *.avi files contain both audio and video data in a standard container that allows simultaneous playback.
