defrag?

is it necessary to defrag frequently with os x? is there a defrag bulit in? if not, what should i use?

OSX does not require a defrag. Though there are applications that defrag and optimize, neither of which are bad to have, and I use them when I get bored :)

Well, I would *NIX's are better with framentation as a whole. You should RARELY ever need to run a defrag. Especially now that Darwin is utilizing journaling. *NIX has always been smarter about the way it uses disks. As for specifics, I'd have to dig 'em up...

This ain't no windows box yer' playin with! :)
