Hello,
I recently downloaded an app off of the internet for a school assignment. I needed to listen to a sound clip so I downloaded 'soundapp' or something like that. Well a weird folder came up on my desktop so I immediately trashed it. I was hoping that I didn't get a virus from it so I went to apple and downloaded "avast" to check to see if there was anything wrong with my computer. The problem is, I can't quit 'avast'. I shut my computer down and it still comes up. I hit 'command' & 'Q' and nothin happens..... how do I get rid of it?? any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I was hoping that I didn't get a virus from it ...

You didn't, because there aren't any viruses that affect Macs. There is certainly other malware that careless Mac users can encounter, but no viruses.
