So, I have a white unibody macbook, and I figured out how to turn off the flash. That didn't work, so I tried option, which turned off the countdown and flash, and then both came back again. Here's my question... How do you turn off the flash permanently? I always have good lighting, and the program always makes my face white when it uses the flash. Could someone help me? Thanks.

Short of taping down the shift key all the time I'm not sure that it is possible.

Unfortunately, It's not possible other than holding shift before you snap the shot. The flash doesn't flash unless you are in a darker environment anyways. So you won't need to worry about it in all areas.
