Using "old environement" on my mac

I have a few software programs that I installed onto my Mac using OSX, but instead they were installed using OS9. Everytime I open them I have to enter into the "old environement. I don't know if some programs have to use the old version of OS or if I just installed them wrong. The software I'm using is Photoshop, Dreamwever, and Illustrator. Any comments?
I think I'll probably have to uninstall those programs and reload them in the newest OS that I have.

Because of the differences between OS 9 and X programs come in separate versions for each. So if you have an OS 9 version of - for example - Photoshop it will run in OS 9 (called Classic) even if you have OS X installed. If you want to use the OS X version of Photoshop you'll have to upgrade the program. The upgrade programs are offered by each company and the costs will very. While some OS 9 programs don't like Classic almost all will run in Classic just as they do in OS 9. Unless there is a specific problem there should be no reason to retrograde to 9.
