My Firefox browser said I needed the current version of Adobe Flash Player so I thought I downloaded and installed it.
However, it appeared as an icon in the upper right corner of the desktop and doesn't seem to be installed. (But I don't even know how to check for sure if it did install).

I don't know how to find it, or where else (if anywhere) it would have gone.

Can someone help this newbie out? (After you are done laughing ;) )

Thanks in advance...

Have you checked your 'Dowloads' folder, it should be in there.

Do you mean it is mounted on your desktop? If so, double click it and either install it or drag it to the Applications folder (shortcut: Command + SHIFT + A) then restart your browser. Hopefully that will fix it.

Flash is distributed as an installer. Have you run the installer? It sounds like you have the installer either mounted on your Desktop or you've copied it there.

Yes, thank you...I had the installer mounted on the desktop. I installed it successfully...that was it!

Thank you all!

Flash player 10.1 works on Firefox but not on Safari.
When I check installed plugins it's total blank!

I would like to run Flash player 10.1 on Safari, if anybody can help me out :)

What happens when you try to load Flash content in Safari?

Firefox and Safari use plug-ins from the same directory on your machine. It is possible though that plug-ins are disabled in Safari. To check, go to Safari > Preferences > Security > Enable plug-ins (make sure this is checked).
