I was wondering how many people here have switched from PC, or have been Mac people all their lives. I made the switch about a year ago, and I will never go back.

If you think about the two options you provided:

- "how many people here have switched from PC"
- "or have been Mac people all their lives"

That pretty much covers 99% of the members here on Mac-Forums!!!;)

Who would the other 1% be?

Some long-shot possibilities:

- folks that have been Mac-users...and switched to PC (Windows computers)...and for some strange reason still hang out here.
- folks that may be thinking about purchasing a Mac...but haven't yet.
- trolls!;)
- spammers
- etc.

Maybe those possibilities add up to more than 1%. Ha ha.;)

Who would switch to PC from Mac? That's ludicrous.

I made the switch in 2008, long time PC user here. And like you, I'll never go back to Windows. :)

What kind of Mac do you have?

Look at his/her profile under their username.

As for the 1%, it would be the people on the fence about switching, or the jealous Windows PC people that come here to troll.

Don't you mean..."Who would switch from Mac to PC!;)

- Nick

That would be an interesting but probably very sparse topic. Honestly, does anyone know a single person that has ever switched from Mac to PC? I mean unless they were forced for some reason (work, school, etc) I can't even imagine someone voluntarily switching from Mac to PC.

I made the switch in 2009 after over 20 years as a PC user.

I know a guy who switched from Mac to PC. But he hates his new PC and wants to go back.

Who would the other 1% be?

Linux users? :D

On a more serious note, since I first saw the Apple Lisa and later the Mac Plus, I was always a Mac user in my heart but my pocketbook would not allow me to purchase one till years later. I really am a Dual User as I have to in my line of work troubleshooting Windows systems, but the Mac especially after OSX is what I use for 95% of my work.

As Crimson said, it's on under my name on the left <--.

It's an early 2008 MacBook Pro. Hoping to upgrade to the new MacBook Pro with i7 this Christmas. Fingers crossed, for real. :D

Who would the other 1% be?
Aliens who are frustrated with their alien operation system and wanting to switch to Mac. That is the true reason why they keep crashing their space crafts in places like Roswell...their spaceship's OS malfunctioned. ;D

All joking aside, I switched to Mac about a decade ago but I've been a long time Windows user. I still have my Windows machines around but I haven't bought a new Windows computer since switching to Macs. I use Mac OS X most of the time.

Who would the other 1% be?

That would be ME.

I still use PC's at work and at home every day. I bought a Mac Mini just so I could write apps for my iphone. This does give me a good chance to compare Mac vs. PC, and I'm keeping a log of all of the observations I have about the Mac. Right now the goal is to get the IOS SDK installed and running.

On the positive, I have the machine connected to an old VGA monitor for testing and configuration. I just received a new KVM switch so I can move the Mini to the same location as the other machine and connect both machines to the same monitor.

Sounds good.

It would be interesting sometime to see what is on your negative list! :D
