Personally, I am just not a big fan of touchscreen devices for my main machine. Phone - good. Table - OK. Main machine - no thanks.

I think it's a neat idea. I got scared at first. When I was linked from CNN, they had implied that apple planned to do away with OSX completely in favor of iOS, should this come to fruition.

When I read the article about it switching between the two, depending on the position of the monitor, I thought it was kind of neat.

Not too sure about smudging up my main monitor, however. Personally, I don't think I have a whole lot of use for iOS on a full size computer, and would much rather just see apps available on OSX, but I see where they're going with the idea, and I'm not against it either. Like I said, it's pretty neat, anyway.

Switching between iOS and Mac OS when the screen is tilted at a certain angle sounds like a novel idea. Though, why? Having two OS's on a computer- one with tons of functions the other with fewer functions sounds..well…

I'm at a loss for words.

Being 'anal' about so much as the slightest spec or smear on my imac screen... Doesn't make me think aout reaching out to touch it, would be a good thing :)

Not interested. There is such as a thing as too big. I don't even want to image a 27" touch screen iMac. With your arms held up almost constantly like that...>_<"

If the setup was something out of the Iron Man movie...then yes I would totally be interested.

I was not ok when Apple said they will have no more floppy drives back in the day. But you know I got over and we are better for it. My point? Don't be so quick to say no to having a touch screen computer for your main computer. Personally I would say as of today I'd have to also say no to a touch screen main computer (or imac for me). But in the future who knows. Anything is possible.

I'm sure one day our home computers in the near future (my guess the 2010's or 2020's) will be radically different to what we use now. The catch is to have an open mind and being able to put aside the old ways we use out computer. In short don't get so attached to your keyboard or mouse. In my opinion their days are numbered. Which to me is a good thing. If we are still chained to the keyboard/mouse in 40-50 years time I'll literally cry.

So I agree today touch screen computer as a main one no way. But in the future yes please.

***************

An idea I just had. People whinge "I don't want to hold my hands up at my screen all day". And I agree that's bad. But I see this as being better:
A touch screen trackpad that mirrors the screen in your main computer. And that is touch screen. And you do all your work on that and the work also happens on the main screen too.

That's just like a touchpad we have today. Yes. But an improved version. And people one day will get so good at it so they never need to look at the touchpad to use it. Kind of like today where no one almost looks at their mouse then they use it.

I very much like this idea. Is it patented yet? :p
