• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Ok -

before I comment here - questions:

1) Are you sure you're talking about something called Voltair and not Voltaic?

2) Why are you converting the footage with Voltaic instead of just importing the footage directly? Unless you're source footage is 24P and you're using an editor that doesn't support that (ie: iMovie) there is no reason to not use the direct import capability as it's usually faster, works better and is easier overall. (the actual video files are .mts/.m2ts files in the stream folder - the .cpi files are clip information files. AVCHD support on the Mac is simple as long as you don't try to fiddle or move the files out of the original AVCHD folder hierarchy)
