Help Problems with mail

I am having a problem with getting my google mail in apple mail. I have another mail account that is still working properly. This all started a couple of days ago. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try removing the account and adding it again. If you are still out of luck, an extreme measure would be to remove the Mail application using Appcleaner and then reinstalling it using your original install disks and the Pacifist tool. That would rule out any problem the Mail application may have, but it won't resolve any problems on Googlemail's side.

Try removing all accounts and adding the Gmail one first, to see if there isn't a conflict in accounts.
