I am getting desperate!

I installed Snow Leopard on my MacBook so I can use it with the iphone 4, everything looks ok. I checked it had the right processor, had enough disk space etc.

I plug in the iphone - nothing... then computer asks me to install Rosetta... but again nothing has happened. The phone doesn't appear anywhere on the computer.

What am I doing wrong?

I wish I'd never got the bl**dy phone to be honest!

Hey Seabee,

I'm sorry for your bad experience with the iPhone and Snow Leopard. It shouldn't be doing that!

A couple of questions first;
- iTunes is installed and working on the MacBook?
- In System Profiler (you can Spotlight for it) under USB does the iPhone appear?

What version of OS X are you using? Still on 10.4? Not going to work, you'll need to upgrade your OS.

And if you wished you'd never gotten it, taking it back is the easy solution while you're still in the return period.

Ok - will check when I get home, but suspect I'm running an up to date version of iTunes. If I wasn't in the middle of house buying/selling/moving stress I think I'd take it back but I just don't have the time at the moment.

Thank you so much.

Are you sure you're missing the iTunes pList file? If it's missing, you may have a bad install of iTunes which may be the reason your iPhone is not showing up. Try reinstalling iTunes and let us know.

Regards.

Yeeeeayy!!

Thank you so much guys.

I don't know quite how... but I've done it.

I went to Time Machine, which was off, turned it on and it found updates (odd as I'm always updating). Ran through all the updates - not specified which ones either?? - restart and VOILA! It works :)

Mega thanks x
